Your ACV central vacuum has been thoroughly tested at our factory.
However, if a problem does develop, please check our guide below.
Doing this before you call your dealer or our
factory can save you time and money.
Your Machine Does Not Turn On - Do you hear a click in the power unit?
CAUSE: If yes, your circuit board is getting power, but not starting the unit.
SOLUTION: Call your dealer or our factory. We do not recommend attempting a repair yourself.
CAUSE: If not, your power unit is not getting any electricity.
SOLUTION: a. Check your power cord. Is it plugged in firmly? Is it frayed or damaged?
It may be necessary to purchase a new power cord from your dealer.
b. Check your power cord in another electrical outlet. You may also want to
try another appliance in your electrical outlet. If it does not work, the problem
may lie with your circuit breaker.
c. If you are still unable to locate the problem, call your local dealer or our factory.
Your Machine Runs Continuously
CAUSE: Your inlet valve has an obstruction.
SOLUTION: Check each inlet valve in your home to ensure that nothing is resting on
the contacts in your inlet valve. Remove any obstructions.
CAUSE: You have a short in your low voltage wiring.
a. Recent attic work or someone working in crawlspace?
b. Animal/rodent chewed through wire
SOLUTION: It is best to contact your dealer.
CAUSE: You have a short in your power unit
SOLUTION: Again, it is recommended that you contact your dealer.
Partial Loss of Suction
CAUSE:Your dirt canister is full or filter/bag or screen needs to be cleaned or replaced.
SOLUTION: a. Follow your maintenance guides instructions for proper cleaning of your particular unit.
b. Check the suction at each inlet. If it is not the same at each one, the line is
partially clogged. To locate the clogged area in the system, start with the inlet
closest to the power unit and check the suction. Continue to check each
successive inlet until you locate the inlet where a loss of suction is occurring.
The clog will be between that inlet and the inlet checked previously. To remove
the clog, insert the hose into the inlet valve where there is no suction. Hold
palm over the hose end and release quickly. Repeat several times. If blockage
does not clear, carefully insert a plumbers-snake and attempt to pull out any
obstruction. Or, with another vacuum you can reverse the suction in the system
to remove the clog. If none of these methods are successful, contact your
authorized All Canada Vac (ACV) dealer for assistance.
Total Loss of Suction - with running motor
CAUSE: You have an obstruction in your hose
SOLUTION: Check the hose for an obstruction. To clear an obstruction in your hose,
insert a blunt instrument ie: garden hose and push the object through.
CAUSE: Your pipe is blocked
SOLUTION: Insert the hose into the inlet valve where there is no suction; hold your hand
over the hose end. Release hand quickly. Repeat several times. If blockage does not clear, contact service depot.
Note: If a situation arises that you are unsure of, please contact your nearest All Canada
Vac authorized dealer or our factory for further instructions. Usually, when your
unit is not functioning properly it is only a minor problem, and we are able to
direct you over the telephone. Should it become necessary to have any repair
or service work on your central vacuum, please ensure that you present your
warranty with your power unit to an authorized dealer.
